Insectivorous plants grow on such soil tht they are not able to get the require nutrients for them thts why they trap insect in their pitcher like shape which is actually their modified leaf. When an insect come near the mouth of this plant the lid close suddenly and the insect is tsrapped in the hairs growing down inside the pitcher. The pitcher secreat digestive juices and the plant digest the insect. This type of plant is also called hetrotrophs because they also make their food by the process of photosynthesis and they also have chlorophyll in them. Example of such plant is venus fly trap, Pitcher plant and sundew plant.

Carnivorous plants have the most bizarre adaptations to low-nutrient environments. Suction traps, unique to bladderworts, are highly modified leaves in the shape of a bladder with a hinged door lined with trigger hairs.
Lobster-pot traps of corkscrew plants are twisted tubular channels lined with hairs and glands.
