The major disadvantages of industrialization fall into two categories: social and environmental. Environmentally, industrialization both pollutes the environment and depletes its resources. Industry requires huge amounts of inputs such as ores and petroleum for fuel.

The various disadvantages of industry to national economy are as follows -
• The majority of the modern industries are highly dependent on the natural resources and that's why the natural resources are depleting in a very fast speed. This depletion of the natural resources will surely affect the economy in the near future where the whole economy will face the lack of resources.
• There are many industries which are mainly operated by the foreign countries and that's why the significant amount of profits of these companies in our country,are actually transferred to the foreign countries. This thing is surely a drawback in terms of the industrial competition among the various countries.
