SOIL EROSION : It is the natural process where the top soil is washed away from one place to another by different agents like rain, wind, etc.

♢Soil Erosion are caused by the following :

♦ Rain Wash : When rain falls, the top soil flows along with the water carrying minerals. This can also be carried out with flood.

♦ Wind : The top soil moves from one place to another with the help of wind.

♦ Deforestation : Due to cutting of trees and other vegetation the land gets loose and the top soil moves from one place to another.

♦ Overgrazing of animals : Animals eat grasses and other smalls plants which makes the soil loose. Thus, soil is washed away.

♦ Micro-organisms : If the growth of micro-organisms increase then the soil becomes loose. Thus, soil erosion takes place.

♦ Human activities : Human activities like over use of fertilisers and other chemicals causes death of vegetation. Thus, causes soil erosion.
