1. Surface runoff harvesting

2. Roof top rainwater harvesting

Rainwater harvesting is the way to preserve rain water by collecting them in proper way.

In surface runoff harvesting, rainwater flows away as surface runoff. It can be collected and used for recharging aquifers.

On other hand, the roof becomes the catchments and the rainwater is collected from the roof of house or building. This is called Roof top rainwater harvesting.
