Hey Friend ☺
Method ( l )
Eliminating one of the variable
Let us understand with the help of an example
Q.Find solution set for following equations
2x + y = 10. ... ( l )
4x - 2y = 12. ... ( 'll )
To eliminate y the coefficient should be same
So multiply equation ( l ) by 2 we get
4x + 2y = 20. ... ( lll )
Adding equation ( l ) & ( lll ) the variable y will be eliminated and further you can solve for x
Method ( ll )
Substitution method
For above example
2x + y = 10 can be written as y = 10 - 2x
Now putting this value of y in equation ( 'll ) we can find the value of x
Method ( lll )
Add - Subtract - Add ( ASA ) method
A special method
To use this method equations should be in the form
ax + by = c. & bx + ay = d.
Process is same as title just add the equations and then subtract them after the answer got add them you will get solutions
Hope it helps you ..!!

There are mainly three methods :-
1. Substitution method, in which one variable is expressed in terms of the other and that value is substituted in the other equation. By using this, we get value of one variable which is then used to find out the value of the other variable.
2. Elimination method, in which the coefficients of the any of the variable is made equal by multiplying the equation such that the variable becomes equal in both cases, then the equations are added or subtracted according to the positive or the negative sign and then we get the value of one variable. Using this value, we can find out the value of the other variable.
3. Cross-multiplication method, sorry but I won't be able to explain this method!
