There are three types of sounds : infrasonic sound, Sonic sound and ultrasonic sound.

Infrasonic sound: below 10Hz

Sonic sound : 10 Hz to 10,000 Hz.

Ultrasonic sound : above 10,000 Hz.

Humans can hear sonic sound. Whereas dogs and some of the other animals can hear ultrasonic sound as well as infrasonic sound. The dolphins can produce infrasonic sound.
