Causes of Poverty in India. Highpopulation growth rate is one of major reasons of poverty in India. This further leads to high level of illiteracy, poor health care facilities and lack of access to financial resources. Also,high population growth affects the per capita income and makes per capita income even lower.

India has a population which is quantitative not qualitative . The huge mass of population is one of the major reasons why poverty exists in India. Also education is the second biggest problem , the poor people who cannot afford education dont get good chances for employment .
