  2. Karyogamy involves fusion of nuclei of the two gametes.

Fungi can reproduce sexually and asexually both .A fungi which is perfect they can reproduce sexually and asexually while imperfect fungi only reproduce asexually.

There are three step involved in sexual reproduction of fungi :-

  • Plasmogamy
  • karyogamy
  • meiosis.

plasmogamy:-

  • Plasmogamy is a method of sexual reproduction which occurs in fungi.

  • In this process the protoplasm of two different cells fuse together.

karyogamy:-

  • Karyogamy is the second stage of sexual reproduction in fungi.

  • It is the process of fussing two nuclei cells.

meiosis:-

  • meiosis occurs in many fungi . it is occurs immediately after two haploid cell fuse .
