khejadi pods are used as vegetable in the dried and green form in many parts of the Thar desert. In Rajasthan, during times of famine, people used eat the bark of the tree. It being an excellent fuel, gives high-quality charcoal.

THE KHEJADI TREES IS MAINLY FOUND IN DESERT AREAS. OT CAN GROW WITHOUT MUCH WATER. IT'S BARK IS USED FOR MAKING MEDICINES. PEOPLE COOK AND EAT IT'S FRUITS ( BEANS) . IT'S WOOD IS SUCH THAT IT WILL NOT BE AFFECTED BY INSECTS. ANIMALS IN THIS AREA EAT THE LEAVES OF THE KHEJADI. AND CHILDREN LIKE YOU, PLAY IN IT'S SHADE.........
