Salt is very much useful to us
i)salt is used in cooking delicious food
ii)salt is also contained in soap which is used in washing our hands in daily life
iii)in some cases salt ise used as preservative also
iv)chemical fertilisers also conatains salt so it is used in farming
v)some pesticides also contain salt so tgese are used to kill bacteria

Salts :

⇒Salts are substances formed when an acid reacts with a base and this reaction is called Neutralisation Reaction .

Properties of Salts :

  • Most of the solids salts have high and melting and boiling points
  • Most salts are soluble in water .
  • Solid salts are electrically neutral and do not conduct electricity their solution can conduct electricity.

Uses of Salts :

  • Sodium Chloride is  the common salt used in food to enhance taste and it is a good preservative and is used for preserving pickles .
  • Sodium Carbonate is used in the manufacturing of glass and it is also known as Washing Soda .
  • Sodium bicarbonate , also known as Baking soda , is used for baking cakes and breads .
  • Copper Sulphate is used in the preparation of fungicides and used in the dyeing industry .
