Explanation:
What are the ways to prevent eutrophication? Eutrophication is a phenomenon in which a water body gets enriched with minerals like Nitrogen and Phosphorus. The ways to prevent eutrophication from happening are as follows:
- Using filters: We can use filters ecosystems in order to remove the content of nitrogen and phosphorus from the waste water/ sewage water.
- Using phosphorus free detergents: We can use phosphorus free detergents or detergents with less phosphorus content in order to reduce the phosphorus content of our waste water.
- Reforming of farming techniques: Adapting the use of organic fertilisers and reducing the dependancy on nitrogen based fertilisers will reduce the flow of nitrogen into our water bodies.
- Oxygenation of water: The oxygenation of water to maintain the required oxygen levels in the water bodies to ensure the survival of aquatic life.
These are the 4 ways through which you can prevent eutrophication.
