In a patriarchal society, women are expected to be limited to households. Women are usually perceived as housewives who do all the household chores and still their work is not counted anywhere. In such a scenario, when a woman leaves the house for work she faces a lot of discrimination. Low wages to women as compared to men, harassment etc account for the discrimination a woman faces at the workplace.
However, men usually have an upper hand at the workplace. They are more favoured than their female counterparts.
