THE THORNY FORESTS -

The forests that grow in areas where the rainfall is scanty and less than 50 cm.

These trees are small in size and scattered over a large area.

In these parts, thorny bushes, grass patches and cause plants grow well.

The trees like Kikar, Babul, Khair, and Date palm area found where rainfall ranges between 40 cm to 50 cm.

These forests area found in Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and Western parts of Gujarat.

Thorny forests are a type of natural vegetation which is characterized by the growth of shrubs and small trees .

These types of forests have low amount of rainfall.

Hence the trees grown here are not very tall nor they are evergreen.

Mostly the thorny forest consist of thorny trees like cacti .

However the shrubs and small trees which are adapted to low rainfall are abundant .

This types of forest are found in Rajasthan , Punjab and the north western part of India which receives low rainfall.
