what are those two numbers whose sum is 58 and difference is 28

hey!!

let x and y be the two nos.

then x+y=58
and x-y=28

by substitution method,
x+y=58
x=58-y

now, substituting the value of x in equation 2
that is , 58-y-y=28
58-2y=28
-2y=28-58
-2y=-30
y=-30/-2=15

x=58-y
x=58-15=43

hence x=43 and y=28
