Hello
----------
◇ Tropic movements ◇
The plant movements in response to external stimulus, in which the direction of stimulus determines the direction of plant movements are called tropic movements.
There are various types of tropic movements : -
i) Geotropism , stimulus - Gravity
ii) Hydrotropism , stimulus - water
iii) Thigmotropism , stimulus - Touch
iv) Phototropism, stimulus - Light
Tropic movements can again be positive or negative. For example, the plant shoot going upwards is negatively Geotropic , whereas, plant roots going downwards is positively Geotropic .
