In order to justify leaving the family, the new doctrine introduced a very non-Buddhist concept. This concept claimed that when someone’s son or daughter leave their home in order to devote their lives to Buddhist practice, they are doing it so that they can assure beneficial spiritual destiny for their ageing parents.
