The testes firstly releases the male gamete which is called sperm which is the haploid set of father chromosome.
Secondly it produces a hormone called testosterone which brings about secondary sexual characteristics in boys.
For release of sperms it needs a temperature less than the body and hence it is located in the spectrum which is the outward organ of male reproductive system as it provides a less temperature.
