They are hit by the bay of bengal branch and being near to the coast the monsoon effect is very high and long.

Also being near coast takes away the continental effect as is present in other states of india

Its on the windward side of purvanchal himalayas so rain bearing winds happen to pour in this region

It has the brahmaputra river system running across it that replenishes the rain bearing winds which otherwise go dry
