Elastic and gravitational energy are types of mechanical energy.

EXPLANATION:

Elastic and gravitational energy are types of potential energy. Potential energy is the mechanical energy stored in objects because of their position.  Elastic potential energy is energy stored in elastic objects.

The elastic objects have energy because of stretching and compression and this energy is "potential energy". 'Gravitational potential energy' is stored in objects when they are in a vertical position. For instance, earth has gravitational potential energy.
