hydrocarbons:

The hydrocarbons which contain C-C multiplebond (double or triple bonds or both) are called unsaturated hydrocarbons.

They are further classified as :

Alknes containing double bond for eg: ethene , butene etc.

Alkynes containing tripple bond for eg: ethyne , propyne etc.

carbon chains which contain double or triple bonds i called unsaturated hydro carbon

CnH2n = C2H4

CnH2n-2 = C2H2
