uses of different kind of mirrors :-

  • Plane mirrors are mainly used as looking glasses. They are also used in solar cookers, kaleidoscopes and periscopes.

  • Concave mirrors are used as reflectors in the headlights. of automobiles. They are also used as compact or sharing mirrors as they form magnified and erect images. For the same reason, concave mirrors are also used by the doctors to examine ear, nose, throat and eyes. Dentists also use concave mirrors to see enlarged images of the teeth.

  • Convex mirrors can be used to view a much larger area than would be possible with a plane mirror. The image formed is smaller in size and erect. Therefore, they are used in rear view or side view mirrors in cars and scooters.
