Valence Band:

The valence band is the outermost electron orbital of an atom of any specific material that electrons actually occupy.

Conduction Band:

A conduction band is a delocalised band of energy levels in a crystalline solid that is partially filled with electrons.

Also, the distance between the valence band and the conduction band is called the Band gap or Energy gap.
