Veins in human body :

  • Veins carry blood from body organs to heart.
  • The walls of vein are thin.
  • The lumen is more for vein.
  • Valves are present in veins.
  • There is low pressure in veins.
  • It carries de-oxygnated blood.
  • If blood is not present in veins they collapse.

Veins in leaves :

  • Veins in leaves consists of both phloem and xylem.
  • They are embedded in parenchyma sometimes sclerenchyma and surrounded by bundle sheath cells.
  • The vein xylem transports water.
  • The phloem transports sugars out of the leaf to the rest of the plant.
