In India, there are two cropping seasons namely Kharif and Rabi.

Kharif crops season is from July to October during south-west monsoon.

For example, rice, jowar, maize, soyabean, sugarcane, cotton etc.

On the other hand, Rabi crops are winter crops i.e. they are sown in winter and harvested in early summer i.e. October to March.

For example, wheat, barley, oat, carrot, onion, potato etc.
