The social movement of the caste Hindus couldn’t win him to their side due to his existential understanding of the pangs of untouchability. The problem of untouchability for social reformers was a serious issue. This problem was exterior to them in the sense that it affected only the untouchables. They had never experienced the sinister blows of untouchability.
