Villi :-

  • The inner walls of the intestine contain numerous finger like protections called villi which increase the surface area for absorption.

Function:-

  • The villi are richly supplied with blood vessels which takes the absorbed food to each and everyone cell if the body , where it is utilised for obtaining energy, building up new tissues and the repair of old tissues

  • The absorbed Food is sent into the large intestine where more villu absorb water from this material. The rest of the material is removed from the body via the anys. The exist of this waste material is regylated by the anal sphincter
