Intestinal villi (singular: villus) are small, finger-like projections that extend into the lumen of the small intestine. Villi increase the internal surface area of the intestinal walls making available a greater surface area for absorption.

Answer:

Villi are small finger-like projections found inside the inner walls of the small intestine. They v increase the surface area for absorption of the digested food. Each villus has a network of thin and small blood vessels close to its surface.
