villi are finger like projections which are present in the small intestine
the function of villi is to increase the surface area for absorbtion so that more useful substances can b absorbsed by our body without expelling.

Villi are finger like projections which help in increasing the surface area . They are present in lungs they increase the surface area for exchange of gases and in the small intestine they increase the surface area for absorption of food.
