Viruses are the micro-organisms which live inside a host and get their food from it. They multiply using host's cell machinery. Antibioitcs are  ineffective in the case of viral diseases as viruses don't have their own cellular biochemical pathways and antibiotics are not effective on it.

Answer:

Viruses are microbes which are unicellular and prokaryotic.they have some essential biochemical life processes which are specific to them only and not common with other organisms. They multiply inside the hosts body with it's cell machinery . Antibiotics are ineffective against viruses because viruses do not have cells . Viruses are infectious agents that live within the cells of other living things. Antibiotics work by breaking down the cell wall of bacteria .
