Viruses are micro organisms with a string of RNA or DNA covered with a layer of proteins and fats covering the RNA or DNA as a protective layer. They do not show any vital signs of life when they are in the external environment. They show signs of life when they their host's body. They enter the cells of the host body and start replicating themselves making several copies of their own RNA or DNA by using the proteins and ribosomes present in the cell. This produces many copies of the virus which come out of the cell and start affecting other cells of the body in the same way.

Hope this helps you buddy.
