Weeds : Weeds are the unwanted plants that grow along the crop plants.

Weeds are harmful for our crop plants because they compete with crop plants for nutrients and water.

In this way many of the essential nutrients which are required by crop plants are used by the weeds instead of crop plants.

One can protect the crop by weeding.

Weeding is the process of removal of weeds from the feilds.

Weeding can be done :

• Manually : By using hands of other tools like - hoe etc.

• Chemically- by using chemicals Known as weedicides.
