Weeds are unwanted plants. They grow with crops and compete for nutrients and water with main crop. So weeds are very harmful. Process of controlling the weed is called weeding.

Weeds are more than unsightly plants in a field. Weeds also compete with the crop for sunlight. Because they are plants competing to survive in a limited space, weeds are actively removing nutrients from the soil to grow taller, stronger and healthier each day.

Removal of weeds is called weeding and is essential because they compete with the  crop plants for water, nutrients, space and light and thus effect the growth and results in  low yield of crops. Weeding is done with the help of Khurpi. A seed drill is also used to uproot weeds.
