what are xylem and phloem?what are their functions and their location?

function of xylem is . it helps move water downwards from stem to leves.and pholem help to downwards and upwards both.

Plants have two different types of transport tissue.Xylem transports water and solutes from the roots to the leaves, phloem transports food from the leaves to the rest of the plant. 
They are located in leaves, the vascular bundles are located among the spongy mesophyll. Thexylem is oriented toward the adaxial surface of the leaf (usually the upper side), andphloem is oriented toward the abaxial surface of the leaf.
