QUESTION:

what are zeroes of polynomial x^2-5x+6.

ANSWER:

Above polynomial is in the form of

a {x}^{2} + bx + c = 0

First of all we have to factorised it to find the roots.

STEP 1. Split the middle term in such a way that it's sum equal to b i.e -5 and product equal to a×c which is 1×6.

 {x}^{2} - 5x + 6

 {x}^{2} - 2x - 3x + 6

STEP 2. Taking common factor.

x(x - 2) - 3(x - 2)

(x - 3)(x - 2)

are the roots.

so,

x - 3 = 2 \\ x = 3

x - 2 = 0 \\ x = 2

FINAL ANSWER :

ZEROES ARE

3 \: and \: 2
