There was an act created in year 2000 known as " Promotion of Equality and Prevention of Unfair Discrimination Act ". This act was created in order to maintain Equality and Justice based society among the Blacks and Whites of South Africa.

This Act consists of :

• No person should face any discriminative and vulnerable feelings on basis of their age.
• A Clerk who works in an Equality court is appointed.
• A commission is formed to deal with Gender Discrimination.
• Any person who violates the act shall face consequences regarding the terms of the act.
• Against Discrimination which includes " Imposing Burdens, Obligations and Disadvantages or With Holding the Benefits, Opportunities and Advantages ".
• Full Rights and Freedom to Equality as mentioned by the Constitution.
• Against discrimination based on Cultural Background, Family Status, Gender, Sexual Orientation etc.

• Against Harassment regardless of any situation.

These are some of the major guidelines mentioned in the act. This act successfully helps to maintain equality and harmony among the people of South Africa regardless of discrimination.
