Businesses are usually conducted by the foreign buyers on their own terms so they get a good deal that is why they agree to the offer made by foreign countries.

They demand high standards for quality and time of delivery, that there should not be delays in the time of delivery and it should be minimized as much it could be.

The reason why they agree to the terms offered by the foreign countries is that they take strict action against any defect or delay made by the other countries, so they comprise to the rules and regulations set by the foreign buyers.

Even though the natural answer to this question would be quality and price, the foreign buyers lay immense emphasis on the following:

1) That child labour has not been deployed in the manufacturing process.

2) That proper working conditions exist in the place of production.

3) That proper dyes have been used in colouring the garments.

4) That non-discriminatory steps are taken in employing labour.

5) That appropriate wages are paid to the workmen.

80% of Indian garment goes to Western Europe, the European Union and the United States of America. These countries are very strict regarding the adherence to the above conditions. Buyers or their representatives even carry out raw material, working process and capacity verification periodically.

AEPC or Apparel Export Promotion Council, under the aegis of the Government of India, clearly lays out the terms and conditions for its members from time to time.

The exporters agree to the terms and conditions as they get good price for their produce, timely payment and repeat order
