The fine qualities of cotton and silk produced in India had a big market inEurope. Indian spices like pepper, cloves, cardamom and cinnamon too were in great demand. Hence, European trading companies were attracted to India.

The large textile mills of cotton attracted the European to textile mills.  In 19th century spices were brought to England.  European not only attracted by the cotton and spices,  they were also attracted to the natural vegetation of India
