What attracted the Europeans to Africa ? Give any three reasons.

The three reasons were

(i) Africa had abundant land and was rich in mineral resources.
Its population was relatively small.

{ii) The Europeans were hoping to establish plantations and mines to produce crops and minerals for export to Europe. There was a shortage of labour as Africans were unwilling to work for wages.

{iii) In Africa, industrial revolution did not take place. Africans were militarily weak and backward.
Europeans thought that they could easily capture the country and use its resource and people for their own profit.

★The main motive of Europeans was to acquire the minerals and land which are found in the africa.

★Europeans wanted to set up the agricultural fields and also to get minerals from the mines.

★Africa people was illetrate and also narrow minded and it also contain poor weapons. Hence that was easy for the Europeans to rule.
