Slums lack proper water and electricity connections and dwellers spend their day hunting for water or sitting in the dark. Construction in slums is temporary in nature and often cannot keep even rainwater out.
They lack basic sanitation facilities like toilets and garbage disposal units.

Hey there,
Slum areas are those areas where basic necessities of life are missing. Due to absence of these, the areas are converted into slums.
Following are the amenities that are absent in slum areas;
- Clean water to drink and and carry out daily routines is absent.
- There is no electricity in the area.
- There is garbage and trash everywhere which is a home to deathly diseases. No governmental authorities take action against it.
- Proper living conditions are absent. People live in torn tents.
- They do not have enough to eat.
I hope the answer is helpful.
Thanks
