Henry James novel i.e. Daisy Miller a narration plays an important part.

Tale of Two Cities where tale is spoken by a narrator in Daisy Miller the story is told in third-person with bits and pieces of first-person narration.

What I am really interested are those moments of first-person perspective.

Second paragraph of the novel readers hear from presumably the narrator: “I hardly know whether it was the analogies or differences that were on top of the mind of young American who two/three years ago sat in the garden looking about him.

The mode of narration in the mentioned excerpt is third person narrative

Explanation: It is because the pronouns include he, she, her, herself, they, etc. In this mode of narration, the omniscient narrator expresses his ideas equally with the characters whereas the limited narrator transfers information applicable to only one character.
