ATL is stand for Active Template Library in reference to Computer Science. The Active Template Library (ATL) is a set of template-based C++ classes developed by Microsoft, for the purpose of making easy programming of Component Object Model (COM) objects. This COM support in Microsoft Visual C++ helped developers to design a variety of COM objects, OLE Automation servers, and ActiveX controls.
