Depends on what you mean by reaching God. It also depends on your definition of God. If you mean after death, well I don't know. God and the concept itself, is a mystery, unproven yet to be false or true. In India, there are so many different beliefs. While all of them are not original to the country that doesn't make their beliefs and opinions any less valid. At least to them. Beliefs and opinions never equal fact and as long as they don't impact or impinge on anyone else's freedom they're free to believe what they want.
So what do you believe is God? Do you believe in some entity in the sky? Or do you believe that God can be found in everything and everyone. Do you believe God is just a concept to define everything that is good? Then the easiest way to reach God is to be everything you believe God to be. You can't be immortal and all knowing and all present, but you can be kind, empathetic, compassionate. You can respect the value of all life and be tolerant of differences and others' opinions. You can respect nature and the earth and appreciate the fact that all life is wonderful and diverse.
You don't need to do anything exceptional to reach god. Just emulate those good qualities that we think God has.
