Thank you for asking this question. According to Theodore Roosevelt what is expected from the United States is imperialism. Imperialism is when a county asserts its dominance through military powers.
 Although imperialism may make a country very powerful it also makes it vulnerable to being led by terrible leaders who have complete power.
This was the point that was made again and again by Thomas Roosevelt as he was against imperialism
