What we have to do is to bring down the levels of carbon dioxide and other heat trapping greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Many steps can be taken for the same.

1. Reducing electricity usage at home. The electricity that we use at our homes comes from the power plants that burn fossil fuels to produce electricity. Therefore we should switch to energy efficient appliances like CFLs.

2. Improve vehicle fuel efficiency. The vehicles contribute a lot in the increase of co2. We should try to purchase fuel-efficient vehicles. Now-a-days we have cars using the solar battery. Using them is a very good step towards reducing co2 levels.

3. Paint our houses in light colors if we live in warm areas or dark in cold areas. This can help to save almost 5000 pounds of co2 every year.

4. The last and the universal step towards this is spreading awareness in our society towards the causes and efects of global warming.

This all helps in saving our environment.
