What can happen when cell contain high water concentration and surrounding medium?

If the cell has more water concentration than its medium, the water goes out of the cell causing it to shrink;  hypertonic solution.


if the cell and the medium has the same amount of water concentration, the water goes in and out of the cell, so there is no difference; isotonic solution.
