heat the ice so it melts.
the ice is in solid state hence the attractive force is strong meaning the molecules are thigty packed.
when we add heat the attractive force is broken down and the particles are not so close together anymore. when heat is added the icecube turns into water/ liquid
molecules are not so thightly packed in liquids as they do not have such a strong force of attraction
the higher the heat the highter the rate of kinetic energy
