If the graph coincides with the x-axis, the object remains at rest throughout the period since there is no change in the distance at a given point of time.
Otherwise, at t=0, the object must have already been at a certain distance from the reference point taken as distance travelled=0. This is because the y-intercept of the graph must be non-zero. However, other than that, the object remains stationary as it does in the first scenario.
