From the chapter, The dear departed.

We can understand that,
1) man have become too much selfish . The two daughters didn't care about father's death but were concerned about sharing things.
2) We can also see that Parents who cared us a lot, are not being cared.
3) We should do our best to serve our parents.
4) The father did right by telling that his property would go to the person who would care for him.
5) Old aged parents needs care ,we should care them more .
6) One more thing we can observe is Bad deeds never go unpunished .
7) If the daughter had not been that selfish regarding the things, she would have received something from her dad
8) Finally she received nothing.

Key aspect to be noted is : The hands which cared us & brought us deserves care . It's nothing something optional, it is compulsory it is our responsibility to fulfill all our parents needs.

The conclusions that we can make from the chapter dear departed are as follows:-

1. The life of a person is not very much valued in today's world as the highest position is given to money.

Eg, When Ben finds grandfather did not pay the insurance then he calls him "drunken old begged".

2. The competition in today's world to show off their wealth .

Eg. Elizabeth and Amelia try to over shine each other by wearing mourning dresses.

3."Selfishness" is the key word that is used to every blood relation today.

Eg. Mrs.Slater shifting bureau from grandfathers room and Elizabeth lying to snap grandfather's gold watch.

The lessons learnt from the chapter dear departed are as follows:-

1. Selfishness many a times lead to a loss .

2. Respect can led you up and gains may enter your life.

3. Old people can never harm you they are your blessings as they may help you not worse times.

Glad to help you
