Yes,because cot theta=adjacent/opposite

tan theta=opposite/adjacent.

adjacent=cot theta/opposite--(1)

adjacent=opposite/tan theta---(2)

Substitute (1) in (2).

cot theta/opposite=opposite/tan theta

So,cot theta=1/tan theta.
