The oil used in diyas is vegetable oil. Vegetable oil has a high flash point and boiling point and at room temperature they are particularly no oil vapours formed which can catch fire. In case of oil, petrol it is the lower flash point and boiling point that cause the fuel to produce vapours which then catch fire.
